👥 Adults: let’s just move away the snow from the streets and put it here in between buildings.
☃️ Children: let’s enjoy this snow as it’s the Frozen movie from Disney.
Vad sägs om vi börjar med vintergator precis som vi har sommargator?
Sometimes it does not require so much to create a livable place and life between buildings in the cold wintertime. I am so happy to see children enjoying this place. Also, families follow their kids and gather around the snow. Some parents/caregivers were playing as well 😛
As Urban Planner and Placemaker, I think we should take advantage and use snow as an element in making and programing temporary places during winter. Just like how we use rain, water, sun, and soil, as elements in making livable temporary places for people.
Stockholm has a summer streets strategy (Sommargator), the city closes some streets and introduces other activities like parklets, walking, playing, and biking activities than only having car traffic, maybe we can also close some streets and introduce Winter streets (vintergator). What do you think? what is your reflection on this topic?
To be fair I am not sure if the city of Stockholm/people in charge had the plan to put the snow here just for kids to play.
If YES: shout out to them.
If NO: shout out to them also, for still keeping the snow between these buildings so children and adults can enjoy their time.
Keep up the good work
Keep loving cities
