All these words “Co-Creation”, “Livable city”, and “Social sustainability” etc. we read in cities visions and goals can’t and will never be achieved, if cities don’t involve and activate communities.
These words shouldn’t stay in documents. They should be implemented on the ground level. By #placemaking, we work with the 3x pillars of Hardware, Software, and Orgware with cities and communities.
One of these good Placemaking cases is Stockholmshem & Boodla &. I got the honor in one of my Placemaking Projects together with Nadine Hanna and to meet and collaborate with Agnes FischerErnesto Díaz Salvador.
Boodla works innovatively to care for and develop cities’ green values. They started in 2012 with urban farming as a tool to create safety in neighborhoods and spread knowledge about biodiversity, cultivation, and sustainable food systems.
The best thing is the community is part of activating, managing, and ownership of their gardens and spaces between buildings. This is a real combination of 3x pillars of placemaking. This kind of placemaking project contributes to making these big city words and goals come true in a city: “Co-Creation”, “Livable city”, and “Social sustainability”.
