đźš—Back to school! Back to cars and traffic congestion around schools!

I see and hear the same story over and over again in almost every project I work with. But how do we overcome this challenge?

❌ I absolutely don’t believe in only making free zones and banning cars around schools. Because then we are only movie the problem X meters from schools. We are not solving it.

đź’ˇWe need comprehensive solutions. There are main aspects to consider to solve this problem:
•Hardware: a physical urban design of a local infrastructure
•Software: community engagement activities and their experience
•Orgware: the commitment of stakeholders strategies, programs, and place management to make the software and the hardware work together.

Something to focus on:
•Encourage walking and biking to school
•Promote Public Transport.
•Improve Infrastructure: Enhance road safety near schools by collaborating with authorities for crosswalks, speed bumps, and signage.
•Parent Awareness: Raise awareness among parents about traffic issues
•Community Collaboration: Partner with local entities to collectively address traffic concerns near schools.

There is no one solution and one responsible stakeholder to solve this. It takes a village to overcome this challenge. In the comments below there are some interesting initiatives from different cities I found on the internet.
