Workshops with the local people and different stakeholders in the early stage of an urban development process in municipalities in Sweden. The workshops were during day and evening times and contained various themes and activities. The aim is to prepare a good social analysis as a base and create guidelines for the urban planner to consider the social sustainability aspect in the new coming development in the areas. And also involve the community in creating the vision of their city.

Female Architecture studio
In Sweden, Södertälje Municipality is aiming to develop a suburb with focus on the social sustainability aspect in urban planning. The workshop with young girls focused on girls’ experiences in how they use the different spaces in the suburb and what urban planners could do to make these spaces more livable. We call it a female architecture studio “Arkitektkontoret Gäris” because the target group was only the young girls as experts to create the vision of the area in these workshops series.
